The final judging panel comprises one member from each of the five category judging panels (all authors), plus four other people - including the Chairman- from outside the book world who enjoy reading and whose opinions we feel the book-loving public would respect, and be interested in. The final judging panel selects the overall Costa Book of the Year from the five Award Winners. To read more about this year's final judges, click here.
Each year, two young judges join the Children's Book Award judging panel.
